At first we didnt know how to get it to tilt, but we contacted the seller and they were helpful in passing along the information. You just keep cranking it after it is opened. We could tell it was designed to tilt, but didnt think of that as we didnt want to put too much pressure on the crank. It works and looks great! High quality. I know that it had not been lowered and raised more than 10 times. The company would not stand behind their product and wanted $45 to fix it. Bad customer service... I'd go for another brand.
